In the summer of 2005 I took part in this pioneering trek in Tibet raising funds for the UK charity MENCAP. It was the first trek of this kind by a UK group. We traversed mountains near Lhasa trekking from the Ganden Monastery to the Samye Monastery and reaching altitudes up to 5,300m (17,500 ft) in the process. Vist the entire site (lots of info about Tibet!) or go straight to the Trek Report with 100s of photos.
Bike Ride in China, 2002
This cycling challenge to raise funds for the UK charity MENCAP took place on quiet backroads of the Chinese coutryside in Beijing and Hebei provinces in the early days of China’s gradual opening to the West. The early digital photos are not as good as those taken today, but certainly capture our pioneering spirit! [Site link]
