Trek Training

To meet the physical challenge of trekking at high altitude solid training is required. It is difficult though to train for altitude living in London - virtually at sea level. So I tried every opportunity to get to the mountains... however small.

Training in Snowdonia (Wales, UK)

The key in the preparation for the trek is development of aerobic capacity, so your lungs can cope up there. Apart from hiking in the mountains I do the following types or excercise:

* running (a 10 km run at least twice weekly)
* biking (30-60 km once a week)

Training in the Tatra Mountains (Poland)

Cycling with a friend from Oxford to London (83 km)
